The Catholic Women’s League of Canada is a national organization rooted in gospel values calling its members to holiness through service to the People of God.

The Catholic Women’s League’s new theme Centred on Faith and Justice extends from the previous theme of Women of Peace and Hope . Jesus came to bring the Father’s healing, saving love to the human family, as expredded in the Good News of the Gospels. Members of the League, rooted in these Gospel values are committed to this same service of love.

FAITH calls us to love those in need and demands a response in a just manner. JUSTICE, the practical expression of faith, requires that all actions in today’s world be purposeful and respectful of the dignity snf rights of all people.

May each Woman of the Catholic Women’s League accept this challenge to be a Woman of Peace and Hope Centred on Faith and Justice

Bishop Crosby in his homily at the opening Mass of the Catholic Women’s League Convention asked the League Members to be mindful of three things.

Always be Thankful - many times during the day we have the opportunity to say thanks; thank you to the mailman for delivering our mail, thank you to the person who held the door for us. Generosity grows out of thankfulness. Thankful people are generous people, using their time, talents and money for others. Generous people must be Trustful that others will use their generosity wisely for the benefit of others.

So I pass this message on to you, let your Thankfulness grow into Generosity which becomes the bases of our Trust in others.
